Jessica Stanley is an actor, writer, voice artist, producer and intimacy coordinator (in training) based in Naarm/Melbourne. Alongside her partner, James Cerche, Jess is Co-Artistic Director of the multi-Green Room Award winning independent theatre company, Spinning Plates Co., whose 2024 production of Rhinoceros was a rampaging hit. Their 2023 production of The Crocodile won three Green Room Awards, and Jess’s original play, Shut Up I’m a Vampire, was also nominated. Jess was awarded the Art Unbound Award at Melbourne Fringe 2021 for her solo creation, JSMR, Best Actor for Howard Fine’s Performance Project for her short film, Jafar, and longlisted for the Richell Prize 2022 for an early draft of her first novel.
Jess is known for her warm energy, strong period look, soothing voice, and fiery red locks. When she’s not on stage, Jess works as an audiobook narrator and marriage celebrant. She is currently training with Key Intimate Scenes to become a certified intimacy coordinator.
